Aligned with our development vision, we expand on the concept of FORCE, representing our sustainable values as Foresight, Organization, Responsibility, Coordination, and Expansion.

Advancing the sustainability mission from BEST to GREAT :
Using “BEST” as the starting point for the sustainability vision, and, by integrating the UN SDGs with the Medium-Term Plan, moving toward becoming a “GREAT University.”
Pursuing sustainable operations toward net-zero carbon emissions :
Establishing clear sustainable investment guidelines and a comprehensive review mechanism to ensure sustainable operations aligned with net-zero carbon emissions.
Building a solid base for sustainability capacity :
Promoting cross-unit sustainability communication within the University, and strengthening partnerships externally through alliance building, policy formulation and concrete actions to lay a solid foundation for sustainability.

Adopting smart strategies for multi-campus carbon reduction through the General Administration Division:
Effectively integrating resources, reducing paper use and personnel movement, lowering carbon emissions and resource waste, and enhancing administrative efficiency and team cohesion through standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Establishing dual guardians focused on sustainable development :
Creating the Office of Sustainable Development to concentrate on enhancing the University’s sustainability capacity and to identify issues and drive continuous improvement through regular monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.

Extending care for disadvantaged groups from emergency relief to poverty alleviation:
Striving to protect the rights and development of disadvantaged groups on campus and, through hardware and software facilities and services, promoting cross-disciplinary industry-academia-research practices to foster diversity and inclusion.

Transforming university capacity into social responsibility:
Through project implementation, long-term organizational operations, services and guidance, expanding internal resources to local communities to embed sustainability concepts deeply in society.

Fostering cross-disciplinary co-prosperity under the spirit of sustainability:
Creating platforms and opportunities for cross-disciplinary communication among faculty and students, with a particular focus on cultivating sustainability empathy to promote collaborative management and shared prosperity.

Leveraging technology to connect with stakeholders empathetically:
Designing appropriate communication channels, conducting in-depth analysis of stakeholder concerns and continuously driving institutional self-improvement and social contribution.

Smart campus, new opportunities for sustainability:
Many on-campus systems are independently developed by faculty, combining low cost with high efficiency, and are promoted to other schools through experience sharing to jointly create new green energy  campuses.

Sharing sustainability to build a better future:
Widely sharing NKUST’s sustainability achievements by organizing events, establishing guidance mechanisms, building digital platforms and publishing specialized books, thereby encouraging more external organizations to co-create and co-prosper.
